The World Vision is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Director, Events Channel. The position will be based in Washington, USA.
The Director, Events Channel, will join a vibrant team of fundraising and marketing professionals responsible for creating and executing strategic plans and partnerships on behalf of World Vision in the events, sports, and experiential marketing areas.
World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Director, Events Channel, will perform the following functions-
- Develop strategic plans and budgets for assigned channels and product lines. Evaluate results, analyze strategy effectiveness, and modify strategies based upon results, coordinating efforts and gathering information as needed from staff across the organization.
- Develop key messaging and oversee all advertising for assigned channels or product lines.
- Collaborate with staff throughout the organization regarding access to both marketing segments and product lines.
- Work with Procurement and Contract Management to manage and negotiate vendor/agency relationships.
- Responsible for donor research, program research, performance testing and the development and implementation of treatment plans for assigned channels or product lines.
- Responsible for researching and evaluating potential new channels or product lines.
- Serve as subject matter expert on cross functional/organizational task forces as required.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
- May hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct supervision.
- Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
- Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent work experience (eight years). Work experience managing multiple channel or product lines, new business and partnership development at a corporate level; 8 – 10 years. Events, sponsorship, sports, entertainment agency and fundraising experience a plus.
- Excellent business planning and long-term visioning skills (budget management).
- Ability to negotiate partnerships on behalf of the organization for influence and fundraising/marketing activities.
- Ability to develop professional proposal and presentation materials utilizing available resources from various stakeholders; excellent presentation skills
- Successful history of negotiating and closing partnership deals.
- Deep “rolodex” of connections and ability to open doors.
- Team player, strong collaboration/ relationship building skills, with self-directed initiation.
- Ability to travel as needed.
