The Concern Worldwide is currently accepting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Systems Director. The position will be based in Sierra Leone.
The Systems Director (SD) is a member of the country management team and shares responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of Concern’s country programme in Sierra Leone.
The Concern Worldwide an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and suffering in the world’s poorest countries.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Systems Director performs the following functions-
- Developing a number of initiatives (mainly focused on capacity and team building and strategic planning) to ensure continued integration of the systems support functions with programme functions, both at head office and field offices.
- Developing and disseminating procedures, guidelines and manuals (relating to transport, stores, logistics, procurement, administration, HR, security and IT), ensuring they are consistently applied across the organisation.
- Ensuring that all Concern Sierra Leone systems are planned and implemented in line with relevant policy and procedures of Concern Worldwide (and with donors)
- Advising the Country Director on all policy matters related to systems as appropriate
- Regularly reviewing and updating the Security Management Plan to ensure that it is a relevant and appropriate to the context and ensure it is implemented and adhered to in consultation with the Country Director
- Management of the HR Department and Roll out of National Staff Manual
- Ensuring accurate and regular analysis of consumption and expenditure of fuel, administration (especially houses and offices), phone, transport and develop cost effective support systems responsive to the programme needs
- Closely support the Programmes Director in the planning of donor proposals
- Represent Concern at various fora as required
- Build productive relationships with national government agencies relevant to systems
- Support to the Alliance
- Contribution to CMT
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- Third level education, degree/ Masters in systems management or logistics management.
- Additional training or qualification in technical areas such as HR, Logistics and fleet management and experience of strategic planning.
- At least 3-4 years’ Management Systems/Logistics experience, with at least 2 years senior management experience working overseas with an INGO.
- Experience working in complex social environments; rigour and attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; well-developed participatory skills, ability to set priorities under pressure.
- Track record in roles requiring strong planning skills; strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills; flexibility and ability to prioritise and handle a diverse, complex, changing and heavy workload; cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Track record meeting deadlines and achieving results
- Work experience in West Africa, particularly in Sierra Leone.
- Prior emergency and development field experience.

- Excellent command of computer, internet and MS Office

- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
