World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Procurement Associate in Amman, Jordan. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Senior Procurement Associate reports to the Head of Supply Chain, to lead a comprehensive range of procurement support activities, performing research and analysis, and providing recommendations to support the efficient and effective procurement services.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Procurement Associate will perform the following functions-
- Coordinates the process of market surveys (periodic and on ad-hoc basis) for prices, stock and vendors information collection.
- Participate in the Request for Information preparation and consolidated reports preparation.
- Lead the exercise and participate in Expression of Interest (EOI) preparation; handles the pre-qualification process for new vendors and tenders records update.
- Maintain accurate, timely updated, easily accessible and friendly user databases and files for all information collected and reports prepared during market surveys, RFI-s, EOI-s and other similar processes.
- Use of WFP Corporate Tools for data entry (SCIPS/IPFs).
- Coordinate the process of vendor’s data collection, assessment and VMC submission.
- Takes action on documenting the performance evaluation of the suppliers and communicates with them on improvement plan expected.
- Maintains a file and records system that is easily traceable for any operation needs and/or for audit queries.
- Lead the process of procurement plan for NFI for JO CO.
- Participates and contribute son Food Procurement plan for JO CO.
- Review the specifications and TORs/SOWs to ensure that all is in compliance for a competitive tendering process.
- Guides the other procurement staff on preparation and handling tenders (food, non-food, inspection service); Handles tenders directly when need be.
- Analyze offers received and make recommendations for the procurement authority for award of contract using WFP corporate system.
- Review the accuracy of the WINGS POs/contracts; Prepare purchase orders and contracts when need be.
- Follows up on deliveries and payment process.
- Takes timely action on POs/Contract closure and proper filing update.
- Participates in PCC meetings and present cases when/if requested by Head of Unit.
- Contributes on the preparation of PCC appointment memo preparation.
- Maintains clear tracking information on all PCC cases and files/records for operation need and audit queries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Secondary education and other qualifications related to procurement, project management, etc.
- At least three years of experience in similar areas: procurement services, logistics, etc.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers (e.g. retailers, wholesalers and traders).
- Demonstrated experience coordinating procurement processes with other units/ teams (e.g., logistics).
- Experience supervising teams.
- Knowledge of procurement process, supply chain, etc. Possession of computer skills and WFP Corporate tools related to procurement.
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
