The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Officer based in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will perform the following functions-
- Ensures timely transfer of resources to benefitting agencies;
- Ensures effective accounting for project expenses and delivery;
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial expenditure;
- Oversees the process of identifying the CSO’s who will be responsible for implementing the different aspects of the project in consultation with the project board, the OHCHR HumanRights Advisor and the Resident Coordinator’s Office:
- Coordinates the different dialogue structures necessary to ensure progress on the Right to Food agenda;
- Effectively supports grant recipients in their implementation
- Effectively evaluates impact of selected programs and projects
- Effectively reports to different fora, through narrative and written reports, on progress made;
- Assists in facilitating national debate and dialogue to build awareness on Right to Food policies, strategies and programs;
- Assists in ensuring best practices are identified and widely disseminated;
- Effectively advocates for the full realization of the Right to Food in Malawi.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field.
- 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
