Open Society Foundations (OSF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Specialist in London, United Kingdom.
The Program Specialist will have a demonstrated interest in higher education policy, strong analytical and organizational skills and an ability to write clear, well-structured prose.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Program Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Support the program in analyzing the higher education policy landscape and the relationship between higher education and the development of open societies.
- Conduct literature reviews, compile and analyze secondary data and evaluate projects and programs.
- Contribute to the assessment of organizational capacity, including financial health.
- Help shepherd projects through all stages of the grant process.
- May be asked to take on administrative responsibilities on an ad-hoc basis.
- Build collaborative relationships within HESP, as well as across OSF’s geographic and thematic entities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree in social sciences strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil society or philanthropic organizations, universities or development organizations.
- Knowledge of the field of higher education with demonstrable understanding of current trends and debates.
- Administrative and organizational skills, including compiling and analyzing budgets and other administrative processes.
- Experience conducting impact assessments and program or project reviews.
- Experience conducting original research in any of the social sciences, including sociology, political science and economics.
- Ability to function effectively in cross-cultural settings, particularly in the context of the power dynamics of a grantee-granter relationship.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Excellent computer skills and comfortable using technology extensively.
- Willingness to travel.
- Commitment to the principles of an open society.
