United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) is looking for Chief Technical Adviser and is seeking applications from the deserving applicants. Job location is Tbilisi, Georgia and the expected duration of assignment is March 2013-February 2014 (up to 150 days). Fluency in English is a must, and knowledge of Georgian and/or Russian would be an asset.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field; An advanced degree of PhD in the relevant discipline with a focus on decentralization, local self-governance areas will be an advantage.
- At least 7 years of relevant working experience (incl. at international level) in the field of local and regional governance/development and/or public administration capacity development; working experience in Georgia will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in providing technical advice on the LSG/RD related issues and in the context of multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in working with counterparts at various levels within government structures on projects with complex technical dimensions in the sphere of local and regional governance/development and/or public administration reform.
- Knowledge of the country, particularly its specific local governance/public administration context as well as a prior experience in providing technical assistance within a comparable transition context would be a strong asset.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point etc.).
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is a must, and knowledge of Georgian and/or Russian would be an asset.
