UNICEF Kenya has invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Consultant-Information Management Officer. Location of this job will be based in UNICEF Kenya Office. Kindly note that duration of this consultancy is 6 months.
Desired Background and Experience
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent background in Computer Science, Information Science/ Information Management or relevant technical field.
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of the Cluster system and NGO humanitarian community.
- In depth understanding of and training in the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies, Chronic Crises and Early Reconstruction an asset.
Experience
- One year of relevant progressively responsible professional work experience in information management at national and international development or humanitarian settings.
- Practical experience and knowledge of emergency education cluster approach.
Skills
- Must have good exposure in managing information in intra and inter cluster coordination setups.
- Must have strong knowledge of Excel and MS Access. Both of these applications are heavily used in the job and the ability to customize Global IM Tools relies on a thorough understanding of how these applications work.
- Ability to present information in understandable tables, charts and graphs.
- Communications and writing skills, using both graphic and narrative presentations.
- Data management and Knowledge management skills will be an asset.
- Assessment, survey, and Monitoring and Evaluation expertise.
- Knowledge and experience of database development and management.
Language
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili required.
