World Vision International has invited applications from qualified and suitable applicants for the job/vacancy of Child Learning Senior Advisor. The location of this job will be DC or Federal Way, WA -US. Please note that this position is Regular Full-time, Family-Spouse with Children. The duration of this job is 3 years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
- MA or PhD in Education, preferably in a program focused on international education development
- Cooperative learning teaching skills
- 5-10 years experience in basic education development work in international settings.
- 5 years direct experience with the acquisition of reading, basic math, and foundational personal skills for young children.
- 3-5 years of previous management experience
Preferred
- Some exposure or experience with initial mother tongue literacy instruction and/or literacy bridging from the mother-tongue to the language of instruction.
- Some experience using community volunteers to help manage large and/or multi-grade classes.
- History of participation in networks of early childhood or basic education professionals.
- Experience integrating character building life skills into the teaching of reading and/or basic mathematics.
- Proficient computer and information management skills.
- Experience working with local community stakeholders and volunteers
- Experience with basic education in fragile and/or emergency contexts
- Exposure to integrated learning theory and practice
