Applications are invited by Ford Foundation from qualified and suitable applicants for the job/vacancy of Program Officer, Expanding Livelihood Opportunities for Poor Households – Eastern Africa . Location of this job will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the use of financial, business development, and organizational development services to improve rural livelihoods, as well as the impact of public and private sector policies and practices and the influence of global markets on rural markets and livelihoods. Knowledge of the East African context; ability to conceptualize program ideas and strategies and translate them into practice; demonstrated creativity, analytical and organizational skills. Possess the knowledge and vision to strategically identify the spaces that the Ford Foundation needs to be in to promote social justice. Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines and perspectives are a requisite. A graduate degree in economics, rural development, finance, or a related field is a requirement.
