Applications are invited by International Monetary Fund (IMF) qualified and deserving candidates for the vacancy of Division Chief/Assistant Director. Locations of this job will be based in US-Washington, DC.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience to lead and manage an extensive work program that includes oversight of cross-departmental projects and the staff of a large division (over 55 staff and contractuals). In-depth knowledge of business processes and technologies related to the life cycle of data and metadata in print and electronic media is essential. The successful candidate should have a strong grasp of developments in information technology and should be able to identify relevant trends and opportunities for advancing statistical management and dissemination. The successful candidate should be capable of decisive judgment, have an ability to motivate staff, and possess strategic vision.
The candidate should demonstrate experience in several of the following areas: developing and executing business strategy, leading change management initiatives, delegating effectively, managing budgets and allocating resources, developing staff, and developing and executing effective communications. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as analytical and planning skills. The candidate should work well under pressure and deal effectively with many competing deadlines and time critical matters.
Understanding the Fund’s mandate and how it relates to STA’s statistical production activities within STA, the IMF, and the greater international statistical community are highly desirable. Familiarity with international statistical methodologies is desirable.
