Management Sciences for Health (MSH) announces the vacancy of Grants Associate and invites applications from experienced and qualified candidates. The location of this job will be based in Pretoria, South Africa.
Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement. Candidates speaking other Southern African languages is desirable.
- Post-graduate (Honours’) degree/qualifications in relevant field (finance, public administration, business, international development, etc) or equivalent of 6 years’ experience.
- Experience in the areas of grants management, contracting, accounting and financial management working with donor-funded programs and/or NGOs. Project administration experience above and beyond financial management is a must.
- Experience developing and managing multiple partners and complex programs in an organized, efficient and timely manner. Excellent time management is essential.
- Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
- Proposal development – experience developing technical and budget proposal development for NGO or CBOs.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate on internal teams as well as with external stakeholders and partners. Preferred candidates will be able to work independently against strict deadline and be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Candidate should have a history of implementing USAID-supported projects or other large donor-funded projects. (Experience managing grants or contracts according to USAID regulations and procedures, including FAR, AIDAR, 22CFR228, 22CFR226 and OMB Circular A-122 would be ideal).
- Candidate has experience or knowledge of large donor-funded projects, preferably with USAID.
- Experience working with and providing capacity building to NGOs is preferred.
- Strong administrative, organizational and written and verbal communication skills are essential functions of this position. Candidates will be required to demonstrate knowledge of electronic mail and telephone etiquette.
- Computer skills in word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications; Microsoft Office preferred. Advanced skills on Microsoft Excel desired.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, and consultants.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours and travel internationally.
