Applications are invited by World Health Organization (WHO) Pakistan from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Provincial Programme Manager – Refugee Affected & Hosting Areas (RAHA). Location of this job will be based in Peshawar-Pakistan.Kindly note that candidate must be a local resident.
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator RAHA and the Chief of Operations; the incumbent shall perform the following duties:
- Conduct a facility based needs assessment in the target health facilities.
- Based on the assessment findings, ensure the implementation of primary health care services in the target areas.
- Prepare annual and periodic provincial work plans for the project
- Responsible for the overall provincial results and performance of the RAHA project according to an agreed work plan for the respective province.
- Participate in the FATA Task Force (FTF) meetings and represent the organization.
- Submit proposed work plans in FATA Task Force (FTF) meetings for appropriate approvals.
- Provide technical backstopping to all programme components and ensure that activities are on track and in accordance with the Annual Work Plan.
- The Provincial Programme Manager will work in close collaboration with concerned government officials and partners at the provincial and local levels to plan and implement the project.
- The field manager will be expected to provide strategic coordination support to all partners (Participating UN agencies, provincial governments of Khyber Paktunkwa and FATA, as well as partner NGOs) through information provision, meetings as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Coordinator regarding status of implementation of project activities.
- Organize, facilitate and coordinate meetings as necessary.
- Work closely with the EHA colleagues (DEWS, Environmental Health, Essential Medicines and etc.) at the provincial level for the implementation of the project activities.
- The Provincial Manager will be required to carry out regular monitoring of the projects in the field (Khyber Agency) to ensure that the programme is achieving the required targets.
- Assign responsibilities and deliverables to project staff in consultation with the Project Coordinator and continue to monitor their progress to ensure that planned activities are successfully completed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Required Skills
- Highly developed analytical and communication skills, including excellent oral and written English communication skills;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, sound judgment, planning, team building and facilitating skills.
- Competence in using information technology including experience with word-processing, spreadsheets and database software;
- Interest in sharing professional skills as well as learning from others;
- Willingness and capacity to work and travel in Khyber Agency (FATA);
- Proven track record of quality performance in highly pressured environments;
