United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Strategic Planning Specialist – Re-Advertised(Resident Coordinator’s Office). Initial contract period is of one year and job location is Islamabad, Pakistan. Excellence in both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Master’s or doctoral degree in development, social science, law or other relevant discipline.
- At least 7 years of work experience in an advisory capacity in development and/or transition operations in crisis or post-crisis countries, with specific experience in South Asia or a related context
- Proven experience in post-crisis transition analysis and coordination, as well as providing policy advice and undertaking capacity development of local staff
- Good knowledge of UN system, procedures and operational activities for development, especially in relation to UN Reform
- Previous experience in UNDAF development and/or DaO piloting, especially in working with UNCTs is desirable.
- Experience in managing multi-cultural and multi-sectoral teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in M & E and HRBA will be invaluable
Language Requirements:
- Excellence in both written and spoken English. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
