Applications are invited from the qualified candidates for the post of Food Technologist at USAID. Duty location is District of Columbia County, DC, US. Salary range is $105,211.00 to $136,771.00 / Per Year.
Qualifications and Experience :
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level to be considered at the GS-14. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience for this position include: Serving as an official liaison providing expert information and consultation on research, development, testing and approval of new food aid commodities; providing specialized technological, biological, and/or physical science expertise in the area of food technology; planning and conducting technical reviews of precedent-setting professional studies, research, and/or analysis related to food aid commodities and designing and conducting a wide variety of comprehensive studies and detailed analyses of complex functions and processes related to program planning and management.
Basic Requirements:
- Degree: food technology, or dairy technology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline or field of biological or physical science. The course work must have been comprised of at least 30 semester hours in the basic biological and physical sciences, and included at least 20 semester hours in food technology and closely related subjects, or 20 semester hours in subjects that can be applied directly to food technology.
OR
- Combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major, including the course work specified, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
