United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) invites applications from the qualified applicants for the post of Regional Programme Manager – Convention On The Elimination Of All Forms Of Discrimination Against Women(CEDAW). Job location is Bangkok, Thailand and the duration of initial contract is one year. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international development, public administration, gender studies or relevant social sciences with focus on women’s human rights
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience, that combines strategic and managerial leadership in development programmes with focus on gender equality and women’s human rights, and preferably 3-6 years with senior-level management responsibilities or similar size and complexity.
- Practical experience managing multi-country regional programmes with programme team spread across geographically would be an asset.
- Familiarity with the East and Southeast Asian region, particularly familiarity with key government and non-government institutions, individuals and networks working on women’s human rights at national and regional levels would be a strong advantage.
- Proven international experience in the UN or an international organization.
- Knowledge of Results-based management (RBM) and practical experience with application of RBM. RBM experience as specifically applied in Fluency in in oral and written English.
- Knowledge of other UN languages applicable to the sub-region an advantage.the UN context an asset.
Language:
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system (DAW, OSAGI, INSTRAW and UNIFEM), which focused exclusively on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
