ACDI/VOCA is seeking a Volunteer-Group Dynamics Assessment and Strengthening Specialist and invites applications from qualified and deserving candidates. The location of this job will be based in Ghana. Bepoase Rice Growers Association requests volunteer assistance to assess the group’s current interactions, roles and activities and to provide guidance on how best to improve them. The volunteer will work with the farmers to develop a draft constitution and bylaws that will help provide guidance on the association’s future operations. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Qualifications:
- University degree in agriculture, agribusiness, cooperative development, or another related degree.
- Ten years’ experience in working with agriculture cooperatives with a strong background in conducting trainings.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Powerpoint.
- The volunteer should be prepared to travel for long hours in a bad road network linking the farming communities in the region. He/she should also be prepared to live in these rural communities without internet, air-conditioning and other amenities. The volunteer must also be prepared to work under dry and hot weather conditions.
