Applications are invited by ACDI/VOCA from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/position of Volunteer- Cooperative Strategic Planning Specialist, Kenya. Please note that this is a short term assignment.
Four cooperatives in Meru and Kitui counties request volunteer assistance to train members on strategic planning. The volunteer will hold a seminar for each of the groups and will help the members develop a strategic plan to help guide their future activities. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Qualifications:
- University degree in business administration, economics, cooperative development, or another related degree.
- Ten years’ experience in strategic business planning with a strong background in conducting trainings.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Powerpoint.
- The volunteer should be prepared to travel for long hours in a bad road network linking the farming communities in the region. He/she should also be prepared to live in these rural communities without internet, air-conditioning and other amenities. The volunteer must also be prepared to work under dry and hot weather conditions.
