ACDI/VOCA is seeking applications form qualified and suitable candidates for the job/vacancy of Aquaculture Specialist. The location of this job/position will be bases in Egypt.
The YATSN Group requests volunteer assistance to build the capacity of fish farmers in Egypt so that they may become more efficient, knowledgeable and profitable. The volunteer will be linked with an Egyptian expert in aquaculture who will facilitate and work with the volunteer on the collection and coordination of data for a comprehensive survey of the Idku region. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Qualifications
- University degree in aquaculture or another related degree.
- Ten years’ experience in aquaculture with a strong background in conducting trainings.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Powerpoint.
- The volunteer should be prepared to travel for long hours in a bad road network linking the farming communities in the region. He/she should also be prepared to live in these rural communities without internet, air-conditioning and other amenities. The volunteer must also be prepared to work under dry and hot weather conditions.
