The Secretariat of the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP) is inviting government institutions/agencies, not-for-profit organisations and other executing agencies organisations from developing countries with economies in transition.
The Theme of the Programme “Low-Carbon Sustainable Lifestyles: scaling up and mainstreaming innovative approaches”.
Program Objectives
- Build a shared vision of sustainable lifestyles
- Integrate sustainable lifestyle principles and practices across all sectors of society
- Empower individuals to adopt sustainable lifestyles through education, awareness-raising and participation, engaging all forms of education
- Measure and track the benefits of action targeting lifestyles
Priority areas
- Identify innovative models and traditional practices
- Support the implementation of pilot projects to replicate and/or scale-up
- Disseminate and increase the visibility of best practices
- Showcasing examples of policies, infrastructure development and instruments
- Organizing dialogues with the private sector, consumers and policy makers
- Identifying best business practices and promising innovations
Grants available
Project amount should range between 100,000 USD and 200,000 USD from duration of 12 to 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants may be any regional, national, local governmental institution / agency (or subsidiary body) or not-for profit civil society, scientific or technical organisations, with headquarters in developing countries and countries in transition are eligible as applicants.
- The objective is to ensure projects respond to countries needs. All applicants are requested to share their proposal with the 10YFP National Focal Points of their country, when nominated.
- Executing agencies could be commissioned by applicants to implement the project in their country, and could receive and administrate funds for the project implementation.
- Executing agencies can be: UN Agencies and other IGOs, not-for-profit organisations, or governmental institutions/agencies from developed, developing or in transition countries.
- Projects proposals that show collaboration between developed and developing countries can be submitted. Such projects must include components of capacity building and knowledge transfer. Funding will only be made available for activities in and by developing country organisations. Thus projects must demonstrate that there is co-funding from developed country partners.
