The establishment and strengthening of an International Partnership, with links to national/sub-national and regional partnerships, to carry out and facilitate the activities identified by the Satoyama Initiative was endorsed at the Global Workshop on the Satoyama Initiative held in Paris on 29-30 January 2010. This Partnership is expected to help foster synergies between organisations in implementing their activities as well as others planned under the Initiative.
The United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS), in its role of the Interim Secretariat of IPSI, is now accepting applications for partnerships until the Secretariat is officially elected and approved at the first Partnership Assembly. If your organisation is interested in becoming a partner, please send an application to UNU-IAS ( isi@ias.unu.edu or fax +81-45-21-2303). Download application form.
The International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) is open to all organisations dealing with socio-ecological production landscapes.
1. Applications should be English and duly signed by the head of organisation.
2. Organisations, excluding governmental bodies and United Nations agencies, are requested to attach a document that describes the foundation of the organisation, such as the charter and by-laws, when submitting the application form.
3. Members of IPSI are expected to submit at least one case study report on one or more socio-ecological production landscape(s) 6 months after their entry into IPSI. Please refer to the Supplementary Document to the Operational Framework for guidelines for the Satoyama Initiative Case Studies.
