Nominations are accepted for Microfinance India Awards offered by ACCESS with support from HSBC, which aims to recognize individuals and institutions that have tirelessly engaged in sectoral issues, contributed to its growth, and have demonstrated commitment to instill high standards into practice.
Categories & their Eligibility-
- Self help group promoting institution- Eligibility for SHPIs–
- NGOs
- Government Departments /Organizations
- SHG Federations (undertaking SHG promotion and management independent of promoting agency of the federation) Banks
- Community managed microfinance organizations- Eligibility for CBMFOs–
- Minimum three completed financial years of microfinance operations Promoted and owned by clients/community
- Registered Entity (Societies, Mutual Benefit Trusts (MBTs), Cooperatives, Mutually Aided Coop. Societies, NBFCs fully owned and promoted by MBTs)
- Self Help Group (SHG) Federation undertaking direct financial intermediation (extending financial services such as credit, savings to members)
- Member based cooperatives providing microfinance services (75% portfolio includes products with loan sizes of < INR 50,000
- Large microfinance organization- Criteria-
- Total Loan Portfolio > INR 250 Crores as per March 2013 Audited Financials.
- Minimum three completed financial years of microfinance operations
- Medium level microfinance organization-Criteria-
- Total Loan Portfolio between INR 50-250 Crores as per March 2013 Audited Financials.
- Minimum three completed financial years of microfinance operations
- Small & emerging microfinance organization- Criteria-
- Total Loan Portfolio upto INR 50 Crores as per March 2013 Audited Financials
- Minimum two completed financial years of microfinance operations
