The cause/affect, a biennial international design competition, is aimed at recognizing the work done by designers and organizations that impact our society in a positive and engaging way. The purpose of this award is to see that if a particular single design has a positive impact on society it can make a valuable mark on the world also.
Eligibility
All design work entered in the competition must promote or support social good and actively engage in enriching our lives. All we ask is that it doesn’t contribute directly to the profit of a commercial organization. To be eligible, work has to have been designed and produced between June 2009 and June 2011.
Submissions will be seen by a jury composed of some of the country’s most gifted designers and socially-conscious minds in the business. Selected work will be showcased at the Fall 2011 exhibit and awards ceremony, as well as featured on the cause/affect website and the AIGA National Design Archives.
cause/affect will also be conducting an online People’s Choice Award, with voting taking place on the cause-affect.org site in Fall 2011. A $2,000 donation will be made to a non-profit chosen by the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
