The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Government of Germany is organizing the “Global Partners in Action: NGO Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Development Invest in Health, Rights and the Future.” This forum will held from September 2-4, 2009 in Berlin, Germany. The aim of the forum is to strengthen NGOs so that they can advance the agenda of sexual and reproductive health and rights for sustainable development. The forum is especially looking forward to have participants from developing countries and hence, they will be fully funded for their presence at the forum. There will be more than 200 participants from the South out of the total 400 participants expected. While NGOs from developed countries are also invited, but they will not be sponsored. NGOs from developing countries can submit applications through the Global Forum website. To be eligible to apply for the sponsorship, NGOs must be committed to the ICPD Programme of Action (ICPD is the International Conference on Population and Development and this forum is held on its 15th anniversary), mst have focus on activities related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, women’s rights, HIV and AIDS, youth participation, gender equity etc), must be working at local, national, regional or international level and must be committed to work towards following-up on the collaborative Global Partners in Action.
