The Western Union Foundation provides direct grants to NGO programs around the world that connect families with economic opportunity. It supports education – including job training, life skills and language acquisition – as well as financial literacy and small business skills development programs.
The Foundation recently announced over US $350,000 grants under its Teach for All program. The Teach for All program seeks to expand educational opportunity around the world by increasing and accelerating the impact of national organizations that are cultivating the leadership necessary for change. It is guided by the values of transformational change, constant learning, mutual responsibility and sense of possibility. The program has network partners that are independent organizations that share a common mission and model and a commitment to shared core values when working together across borders.
The Foundation invites interested persons to launch a program in their own country under this program. It seeks to grow its network which is driven by the interest of social entrepreneurs around the world who share our mission and vision. It believes that ownership is critical to maximizing a program’s impact and to its sustainability, and it’s the initiative and leadership of these emerging entrepreneurs that sets the foundation for launching new organizations in their countries.
There is also another opportunity to get involved with the Western Union Foundation’s Teach for All program. You can also apply to teach in your country under this program. Teach For All network partners are recruiting diverse leaders from a range of experiences and academic disciplines to commit two years to teach in high need classrooms and to work throughout their lives to expand opportunity for children in their countries.
During your two-year teaching commitment, you will be able to impact the students you teach and the future options available to them. Building on the foundation of these two years, you will join Teach For All alumni across the globe who are working to expand opportunity for children, whether in education, policy, or other sectors.
