HP and New Media Consortium (NMC) have launched the HP EdTech Innovators Award for the purpose of showcasing the work of innovative educators and share their best practices of integrating information technology into education. The award addresses the problem of lack of tools, resources and knowledge for integrating information technology in education amongst certain communities around the world.
Public or private educational institutions at any level of formal education as well as nonprofit organizations that foster the use of technology in education can apply for the award.
Program goals
The HP EdTech Innovators Award:
- Recognizes pioneers in primary, secondary and higher education who use technology in innovative ways inside and outside the classroom
- Supports innovative educators with technology to replicate, advance and share their successes
- Increases awareness of successful programs, supports sharing and encourages adoption of best practices
Grant summary
A maximum of ten education institutions will receive the HP EdTech Innovators Award.
Each grant includes:
- A technology grant of approximately $40,000 (USD, HP list price)
- Membership in an educators social network with access to support, training and other features to help grantees move their innovations into practice.
