British Council seeks applications for UK International Healthlinks Funding Scheme (IHLFS) funding from a wide range of formally accredited health institutions and organisations in select developing countries with the aim to support Links which are driven by the developing country partner. Links must benefit the developing country and be in line with national and district health plans.
Start-up grants (up to £3,000) are available to support the development of new and young Links who have been working together for less than two years. Applications will be considered at any time during the scheme, however the activities related to these grants should be completed within a maximum of six months of contracting. Start up grants should be used to support and initiate round three project grant discussions and therefore encourage long term links.
Start-up grants are open to health organisations and institutions in all DfID’s Public Service Agreement (PSA) countries working with partner institutions in the UK.
PSA countries are:
Africa: Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam and Yemen.
