NGO leaders and professionals can avail the fellowship opportunity to participate in the three-month seminar in the United States, starting from 1 March to 28 May 2010 to understand the international voluntary sector, build contacts with foundations and international nonprofits, participate in fruitful workshops and explore partnerships for the benefit of their organizations. The fellowships are offered by the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, which is the part of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. The program is known as the Emergeing Leaders International Fellows Program which aims to provide leadership training to young professionals and practitioners working in the civil society sector outside of the United States.
Young people associated with the NGO sector are encouraged to apply for the fellowships. As an eligibility condition, they should be fluent in English and should hold a college or university degree. At the end of the fellowship period, they are required to present a research paper on the year’s theme, which is ‘community foundations.’ The fellowship includes coverage of tuition fee, return airfare to New York City and a stipend for research and living expenses. The last date to apply for this fellowship program is 3 September 2009. For more information, visit this link.
