The International Land Coalition has issued a call for membership for any organization that shares its vision and mission to apply and become a member to its global alliance of civil society organizations working to secure equitable access and control over land for poor women and men.
The coalition is “a global alliance of civil society and intergovernmental organizations working together to promote secure and equitable access to and control over land for poor women and men through advocacy, dialogue and capacity building.”
Every two years, the members of ILC meet at their Assembly of Members during which they vote and approve new members. The previous voting and approval process took place in 2009. Now the Assembly is meeting again in Albania in April 2011 to organize the same process again.
“Organisations currently underrepresented in ILC’s membership, including research and academic institutions and international NGOs, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Individuals, governments, and private sector actors such as corporations are not eligible for ILC membership.”
The deadline to submit applications is 15 November 2010. For more information, visit this link.
