The Prince Bernhard Nature Fund (PBNF) Grants up to EUR 25,000 for Conservation Projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America
Deadline: 1 February 2015
The Prince Bernhard Nature Fund (PBNF) is currently accepting grant proposals from organizations working to save critically endangered flora and fauna in the tropical and sub-tropical regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Fund provides up to EUR 25,000 to implement project.
The applicants will be notified of funding decision by June/July 2015.

- Protecting the Southern Ocean
- Crocodile-friendly villages in The Philippines

- Saving The Senkelle Swayne’s Hartebeest in Ethiopia
- Saving the Amur Leopard in the Russian Far East
Eligibility Criteria
- The application must demonstrate clarity and urgency of the conservation case.
- Application should be made for direct contribution to the utilization and development of local capacity.
- The amount of funding and/or conservation action (policy, community work) should be catalyzed by PBNF.
- The mid and long term sustainability of the results pursued by the project i.e. how will the results be sustained once the PBN Funding will have been fully used should be clearly mentioned.
- Applications must be written in English language.
- Request for project support should not exceed four (A4) pages of text.
What does the Financial Request Application demands?
- Project Title
- Project location including description of specific nature and biodiversity characteristics.
- Requesting organization + website URL:
- If the applicant organization had received financial support before from the PBNF? Amount, date and description on how does this new application relate to the former financed project(s)?:
- Project summary, including brief description of context, main target groups, activities, main objectives and potential key results. (100 words max):
- Description of the requesting organisation and its network
- Project objectives, activities, expected start & end date, expected local project results, and importance and expected result towards international nature conservation.
- Indication of the mid and long term sustainability of the project results i.e. how will the results be sustained once the PBN Funding will have been fully used should be provided.
- Proposed budget
- Expected contribution by local partners and/or contribution to capacities of local partner(s).
- Name and role of local partner-organization(s) like community-based organizations, local government and private sector.
- Name & contact details of 2 reference persons.
- Full Contact details of the applicant organization.
Note: The financial application must be accompanied with one A4 page in pdf with a collage of pictures related to the project requesting funding support.
