The Medals for Outstanding Research on Development, administered by the Global Development Network (GDN) are given out to “outstanding completed research work in specific themes related to contemporary development issues.” There are two prizes available for the winners of the Medals. The first prize winner will get a cash award of US $10,000 and travel support to the GDN’s Eleventh Annual Global Development Conference in Prague, Czech Republic on January 16-18, 2010. The second prize will be also funded for the participating in the Conference and also getting a cash award of US $5000.
“The Medals will be awarded based upon the innovativeness of the research topic and the methodology, quality of content, relevance of the research in the context of the specific theme and the clarity and significance of the policy implications for addressing specific development issues.”
The research papers should cover any of the following themes:
- Globalization, Regulation and Development
- International Migration: Crossing Borders, Changing Lives?
- Regional Integration- Convergence Big Time, or, an Opportunity Wasted?
