The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking applications for persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities to apply for the Minority Fellowship Program. The fellowship is an opportunity to visit the OHCHR office in Geneva, Switzerland and learn about the UN system and mechanisms for the promotion of international human rights and minority rights. This is an annual program and every year young women and men from national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities in different countries are selected as fellows. The program also intends to support organizations that are working with this target group in their countries. Organizations representing minority groups can recommend these individuals to apply for the fellowship. The fellowship will cover travel expenses, health insurance, modest accommodation and other living expenses. The applicants should have the ability to learn from their participation in the fellowship and transfer the learning to the community after returning back. The last date for submitting application forms is 15 July 2009. For more information, visit this link.
