The 26th UNAIDS Programme Coordination Board (PCB) Meeting was held from 22 to 24 June 2010 at the ILO headquarters in Geneva. The meeting was unique because it had a formal representation of the civil society at the governing board level. The NGO Delegation at PCB contributed to the meeting in many ways including the submission of its annual report, which is part of the NGO consultation work. UNAIDS also undertook electronic consultations with other civil society representatives from around the world who could not participate in the Meeting.
Below is a video showing the highlights of the consultations undertaken with more than 1500 civil society members. One of the important topics of the NGO report has been the impact of stigma and discrimination on the HIV response and how NGOs have been facing challenges in this direction.
UNAIDS has now issued a call for nominations for its NGO Delegation Recruitment 2010. The Delegation is recruiting the following for a period of two years starting 1 January 2011 up to 31 December 2012.

The position of NGO Delegates to the UNAIDS PCB is important to the effective inclusion of community voices in the key global forum for HIV/AIDS policy. NGO Delegates represent the perspectives of civil society, including people living with HIV, within UNAIDS policies and programming.”
