NGOs from the Asia-Pacific region are invited by the Asia Society to be nominated for the Asia 21 Young Leaders Initiative 2009 Public Service Award (PSA). The award not only carries a grant of US $10,000 but also technical advice and support from the Asia 21 Fellows’ network. NGOs that have been working to reach out “underprivileged social/economic groups by providing a meaningful service to a community and the public in the region” for at least two years can be nominated for the award. NGOs should demonstrate innovativeness, feasibility, measurability and/or sustainability and growth potential in their projects and should be able to receive foreign funds from the United States.
NGOs wishing to apply for the award should get an endorsement from the Asia 21 network of fellows. These fellows can be reached out by contacting Asia Society or visiting its website (link given below). NGOs need to submit the nomination and application forms, in addition to information about their organizational work including financial reports and proof of existence for past two years and also a project proposal with budget explaining how this grant will be used if they are awarded.
Applications have to be submitted by email. The form can be downloaded from the website. The last date to apply for this grant award is 15 August 2009. For more information, visit this link.
