The European Commission is accepting proposals from NGOs in Vietnam as well as international organizations from the EU and other eligible countries under the under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS). The objectives and issues of this program for Vietnam are:
1. Pursuit of common agendas for human rights and democratic reform
-activities to promote women’s and children’s rights, the rights of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups;
-activities to protect the rights of indigenous peoples;
-activities advocating the abolition of the death penalty, the prevention of torture and ill-treatment.
2. Building towards consensus on disputed or controversial areas of policy
-activities to share experience and analyse common problems concerning the relationship between religion and the state.
3. Enhancing political representation and participation
-enhancing political representation and participation, including the empowerment of women and other underrepresented groups, and responsiveness and accountability, by means of initiatives by civil society in dialogue with “political society” (e.g. with the National Assembly of Vietnam).
PADOR registration is required for all applicants and applicant partners before applying for this grant opportunity. Since this is an open call for proposals, both concept notes and full proposals have to be submitted.
