The Rockefeller Foundation is requesting for nominations of those who are working to improve the lot of poor and vulnerable people around the world. There is opportunity for selected NGOs or individuals to apply for grants of up to $100,000 from the foundation.
The Next Century Innovators Awards is open to those who are applying innovation in new and different ways to promote the well-being of humanity around the world.
To participate in the Awards, you need to nominate a person (which may be yourself) or an organization (which may be an organization with which you are affiliated as a founder, director, or employee) applying a specific innovation in a new and different way to promote the well-being of humanity around the world.
For purposes of the Competition, “innovation” means a break from previous practice that occurs when different points of view or existing elements are framed, imagined or combined in new ways or when a new pathway is created for solving entrenched social problems, resulting in lasting change within the systems that affect poor and vulnerable people. Subject to these Official Rules, three Awards are expected to be made, including one “Youth Award.”
To submit nominations, you need to fill the entry form at the Foundation’s website.
Selected Award Winners and Finalists will be required to participate in the 2013 Rockefeller Foundation Centennial Innovation Forum and Awards Dinner. In addition to this, the final winning organization (to which the winners are attached) will be eligible to apply to Sponsor for a grant in an amount up to US$100,000.
The deadline to submit nominations is 28 February 2013. For more information, visit this link.
