The Disability Rights Fund, which works to “strengthen the participation of Disabled Persons’ Organizations (DPOs) in the advancement of the United Nations Conventions on the Right of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD),” is now accepting applications under its second grantmaking round. In this round, the DPOs from the following countries can apply for the funding. Applications can be submitted by these organizations either in their single capacities or as a coalition.

- Namibia
- Uganda
- Ecuador
- Nicaragua
- Peru
- Bangladesh
- Pacific Islands: Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu
The objectives of this grant are to increase the skills of the DPOs for addressing CRPD, develop more inclusive partnerships, strengthen capacities, enhance participation in decision-making processes at the locally level etc. Single organizations apply for the Fund can request for grants between US $5,000 to 30,000. National-level coalition of DPOs can seek funding between US $30,000 to 70,000. The grants are available a period of one year and are project-specific.
Applicant organizations should demonstrate their ability and commitment for advancing the human rights of persons with disabilities.
