    Hi SIDA,
As a LGBT and human rights advocate in Malawi, I would like to be invited and supported to attend the traiing positioned 3 for me to learn more on theconcepts on my work. Here in Mlawi issues of gays is not common and attracts allot of comments from both the government, civil society organziations as well as the church leaders due to lack of civic education and adaptation to globalisation. Threfore the mentioned training will enable me to sensitise the community basically on issues of HIV and AIDS as most of these criticisms are dwelt much on one side not looking at the effect of what is really happening.
Please invite me and I was looking forward to this type of training for proper advocating and working here in Malawi especially on LGBT (human rights).

We do counseling to people with Hiv/Aids; we take care of all O.V.C’s who lost their bread winners through HIV/AIDS and through other sicknesses. We encourage people from the community to go and test for HIV / AIDS in order for them to know their status.
We also conduct awareness programmes about substance abuse, crime, drugs, teenage pregnancy and alcohol. And now we are currently busy with a feeding scheme program, whereby we will be cooking for schools and households who are struggling for food.
Last year we helped 20 students from KWAMGAGA HIGH SCHOOL with getting them Bursaries, after completing their metric they went straight to university. if government and other companies can help us with some of the equipment that can be used when preparing meals for students and if companies like retail shops such as WOOLWORTHS, CHECKERS, SHOPRITE AND PICK N PAY can donate or contribute to our organization with food packets we will really appreciate that.

I work for Greener Impact International; An NGO in GHANA that is responsible for climate Change education and also embarking on projects to mitigate its menacing effects. Our activities includes planting of trees and discouraging community members to desist from indiscriminate cutting down of trees.

Ghana’s forests are under pressure, and my organisation believes action is needed if the forests are to survive. Ghana’s tropical rain forest area is now just 25 per cent of its original size. Deforestation has occurred for a variety of reasons, including logging (a major drain on forest resources) and clearing the land to plant cash-crops. Experts believe that If extraction continues at the present rate, the forest will be gone in the next 45 years.

For me, my participation in this training program will be a “God sent one” to salvage the Ghanaian forest. I believe strongly that, the training will enrich my knowledge to position myself strategically within my organization to help protect the Ghanaian forest. Thanks to SIDA For such a program.

it’s a great! my name is Permana Yudiarso, a civil servant worked for the Government of Indonesia concerning in coastal area development. i am interested to join in the area of Local Environmental Management in Urban Areas 2011 Asia:

we did a research about the provision of water supply for coastal area particularly servicing the low income people incl. fishermen in remote small island of Indonesia. fishermen and coastal communities are relying on water supply provided from outside which is high cost and unreliable. furthermore, climate change impacted local coastal communities since they’re income is fluctuated following the uncertain condition. climate changes their fishing activities and impacts to their daily income. these enforces them to adapt as they can. thus, hope i can join the ITP in 2011

My name is Thandeka Mayekiso, from Cape Town, South Africa. I am the founder and director of the Karoo Butterfly Centre (KBC). Let me give a bit of background on the KBC:

The Karoo Butterfly Centre ( KBC) is a Safe House to be erected for vulnerable and at-risk children and destitute boys and girls: Sexually abused, abused and orphaned children (mostly through HIV/AIDS), in Beaufort West in the Central Karoo Municipality District (CKDM) in South Africa.

As a Safe House, the KBC will provide the required safe environment where these girls and boys would meet their basic needs such as shelter, education, medical & psychological care, proper hygiene; legal assistance, food, warmth and a family.

The KBC would be honoured if you could partner with us, and help us get this much needed initiative off the ground. Our website still under construction, and will be up and running by mid/end of December, 2010.

On request, we would like to forward you our proposal, including a short introductory DVD that we had produced, to give you a synopsis of our project, the challenges involved and the people affected by these challenges.

The KBC would be honoured to be part of this project. Should you wish to get in touch with us (and we hope you do), kindly feel free to touch base with me at anytime of your convenience. Contacting details below.
