The US Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration is providing funds for NGOs working for Burmese Refugees in Thailand. The projects under this funding will be for a period for 12 months and the expected start date for implementing them is 1 June 2009. The funding will support NGOs and the targeted refugees are those based in the Umpiem Mai, Nu Po, and Ban Don Yang camps in Thailand. The services to be covered under the project should include health care services, water and sanitation, income-generating activities and building the local capacities of the community. NGOs need to demonstrate a working knowledge with the UNHCR under this program. NGOs need to apply for this funding opportunity through http://grants.gov.
