USAID seeking New Partner NGOs

The USAID (United States Agency for International Development) through its Microenterprise Development Office is seeking to develop new partnerships with NGOs around the world in the field of value chain development. In these new partnerships, USAID will grant funding support to NGOs that demonstrate the value chain approach, build local champions that promote the value chian approach, foster partnerships with other organizations in the same field and promote innovation and organizational change. The specific activities under the initiative should include piloting the value chain approach, cost-sharing long-term advisor, applying knowledge managemetn systems and improving decision-making.

The partnership will also be a learning opportunity for USAID in understanding the challenges for implementing the strategies proposed under this new partnership. USAID also intends to emphasize upon learning networks not only through advisors, but also through participating in international workshops (these also need to be budgeted in the proposal). Applicant organizations need to demonstrate that they have adequate financial resources or they are able to raise them during the duration of the project to share some of the costs associated with the project activities.
