The Urban Living Partnership brings together all seven Research Councils and Innovate UK is inviting applicants to promote integrated research and innovation to address the challenges faced by urban areas in the UK and to help them realise their visions for future urban living.
The aim of this partnership is to combine strengths across the UK’s research and innovation ecosystem to understand key interconnected urban challenges to co-produce practical responses and exploit emerging market opportunities and capacity for social innovation.
Funding Information
The Research Councils and Innovate UK have allocated £2M to support up to five city pilot consortia under this call. Each consortium may apply for a contribution from Research Councils UK and Innovate UK of up to £400,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Funding will be issued as a single award, to be held by a lead partner organisation, this will ordinarily be a recognised research organisation or independent research organisation eligible for Research Council funding.
- Additional collaborators are expected to include small, medium and/or large businesses (including relevant global leaders and/or specialist SMEs), charities and/or other civic institutions.
- Only co-investigators based at eligible research organisations who meet EPSRC eligibility requirements may be included in the co-investigators section of the form.
- Non-academic collaborators / partners may be incorporated into proposals in a number of different ways. Partners who are contributing resources to the project may be included as project partners.
