Imagine Program for Conflict Transformation is accepting applications for ‘Dialogue for Young Journalists and Educators’ program for 2012. The goals of the Imagine program are: to offer interested Armenian and Azerbaijani young educators and journalists conflict awareness, conflict resolution, peace education and constructive communication skills; provide opportunity to meet their peers from the other side; learn first-hand about each other’s positions, needs, concerns and hopes for the future; and to jointly design forward looking programs for their peers aimed at improving the understanding between the two societies.
The 2012 Program will consist of three phases. Phase 1: Conflict Awareness and Resolution Skills Trainings that will take place in Baku and Yerevan on May 26 and 27, 2012. Phase 2: A number of participants of the training committed to cross-border collaboration will be invited to participate in Dialogue and Retreat Program in a resort town in Georgia. This program will take place on July 09- July 16, 2012. During the retreat the participants will have a dialogue and further opportunities to discuss the role of journalists and educators in conflict and conflict resolution processes. Phase 3: In the Fall of 2012 the participants of the previous two phases will reunite with their colleagues from across the border to jointly develop forward looking programs aimed at engaging a larger group of journalists and educators into peace process.
