Public Service Broadcasting Trust is inviting proposals for documentary films from independent filmmakers. The objective of this program is to intend to project India’s soft power to overseas audiences. Filmmakers must bear in mind that these are Films intended specifically for foreign audiences who may be uninitiated into Indian traditions and practices.
The Films should deepen the understanding of and provide glimpses into contemporary India, its innovations, resilience and negotiations, while also reflecting on its heritage. They will need to meet best international standards technically, intellectually, creatively and be positive and credible without being hagiographic.
Requirements-
- The Films will ordinarily be of 26 minutes duration, shot and post-produced on Full High Definition (1920×1080, 35 mbps).
- The average budget for this will be between Rupees 10 and 12 lakh.
- Proposals submitted earlier will not be reconsidered. Filmmakers should submit fresh proposals.
- PSBT may, in consultation with the Public Diplomacy Division, at its initiative, invite filmmakers we propose, to submit specific proposals on some themes.
- Filmmakers are invited to submit only ONE proposal.
Eligibility & Criteria-
If applicant’s proposal, under any other Grant to PSBT, is currently under consideration with PSBT, applicant’s are eligible to apply, if they have not heard from PSBT yet, seeking further details on their proposal.
