Many people mention blogging/writing and traveling as hobby or passion. This is a time to showcase these passions. The World Tourism Organization invites bloggers who have lots of knowledge about tourism and its economic, social and environmental impact to post blog in their own blog to compete in the WTD (World Tourism Day) Blogger Competition 2014.
Theme: Tourism and Community Development
This is a chance for you to share your experience if you ever had the chance to visit a community which benefited from tourism or if your home community experienced improvements through tourism.
Winning post will be announced on 30 August 2014. The author of the winning post will be invited for a round trip to Mexico with an opportunity to visit local community projects. S/he will attend the official World Tourism Day Celebration on 27 September 2014 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Eligibility Criteria
- Active bloggers, 18 years or above, with a shown track record of posts on their blog.
- Submitted posts (within 500 words) must relate directly to the theme of ‘Tourism and Community Development’ and must be written in one of the three languages – English, French or Spanish.
