Mid-career broadcast journalists and program-makers with minimum three years’ experience working in factual programming: informative programming outside news and current affairs is invited to participate in the short course on Facts & Formats: Sexual and Reproductive Health to be held from 30 March – 24 April 2015.
On completing the course, the trainees will become familiar with the use of a variety of formats to increase attractiveness and effectiveness of factual programs on radio and television; targeting specific audiences (e.g. on issues of sexual and reproductive health); creative ways of packaging and presenting the information through various media; developing and pitching innovative factual program concepts designed to inform and change perceptions about issues in society. They will also get insight on how to design and produce pilot factual programs on sexual and reproductive health topics relevant to participants work to help them grow in the workplace.
Participants who successfully complete the course (sessions and assignments) will receive an RNTC certificate and become alumni.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be currently working as a broadcast and/or online (factual) program-maker or journalist and have a minimum of three years working experience.
- Applicants must be used to at working with computers and have good command over computer skills.
- Application must be accompanied by a motivation (150-200 words) in English explaining why s/he wants to follow the course.
