Deadline: 1 February 2016
The Fund for Investigative Journalism is inviting applicants for its grant program in order to support investigative reporting projects around the world.
The Fund encourages proposals written for ethnic media and submitted by journalists of color.
The Fund for Investigative Journalism was founded in 1969 by the late Philip M. Stern, a public-spirited philanthropist who devoted his life “to balancing the scales of justice,” in the words of a friend.
It is Fund policy to pay the first half of approved grants to successful applicants, with the second half of the grant paid on evidence of publication of a finished project in accordance with the original proposal.
Funding Information
- Grants average $5,000 and cover out-of-pocket expenses such as travel, document collection, and equipment rental. The Fund also considers requests for small stipends.
