Application invited from low income people in the developing world, with the overall aim of reducing their vulnerability to financial shocks through Microinsurance Facility.
The Facility engages in the following sets of activities to achieve its mission
- provide grants to institutions to devise and test innovative approaches to providing better insurance products to the low‐income market in developing countries
- support the improvement of capacity amongst providers and microinsurance practitioners
- support research on assessing the impact of microinsurance on low income policyholders, on identifying successful business models and on finding out good practices within the sector
- analyze experiences and disseminate relevant lessons to key stakeholders.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Advanced degree (Masters, MBA or equivalent) in a relevant subject to conducting applied research
- Three to five years of experience in insurance industry (or related industry), preferably in a market research and/or product design role.
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- Work/travel experience in developing countries.
- Good knowledge of English
- Excellent written and oral communication; skilled in communicating cross culturally and across functional areas.
- Excellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting to peer groups as well as senior executives.
- Strong project planning skills; able to navigate projects from conceptual stage through implementation and evaluation.
- Familiarity with insurance management information systems and insurance industry performance ratios.
- Interest in international development and commitment to continue working in micro insurance after the Fellowship.
- The candidate should be open to travel to the field offices
