The Mott Foundation has made available grants of $120,000 to CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation.
The grant will support the strengthening of the national associations of civil society organizations around the world. This will be accomplished through “through convening, coordinating, information-sharing, skills building, and networking activities.
Over the next two years, the association will convene annual and regional meetings of the national associations; develop a resource guide for national associations and their members to be used for workshops and trainings; organize peer learning exchange visits; provide back-office support to regional networks of national associations; help national associations with developing membership strategies; provide advice on working with governments; and create communities of practice on issues of legitimacy, transparency, and accountability.
The association currently has 58 members from around the world.
CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance established in 1993 to strengthen citizen action and civil society worldwide.”
