27th February is World NGO Day. On 27 February 1948, United Nations’ resolution introduced the definition of International NGOs. This was an important mention in the history of NGO sector. To recognize and highlight the effort of NGOs around the world that have been making difference in the lives and communities they work, World NGO Day Initiative was created a few years back. First World NGO Day event was hosted in Pakistan in 2014. This year, again, The NGO World will host Exhibition and Conference to mark the World NGO Day 2015.
NGOs around the world can participate in the program. Interested organizations are required to confirm their participation in the conference before 20 February 2015. Leading Experts and Subject Specialist from Public and Private sector will be the speakers and presenters discussing on sustainability issues, effective use of ICTs and social media by NGOs, challenges NGO sector is facing and more. The conference will be held at the auditorium of National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) Chak Shazad Islamabad.
On 26 and 27 February, organizations can display their brochures, models, pictures, banners, posters, publications, flyers and materials in the exhibition. Exhibition location is NCRD. Interested organizations will have to register their organizations before 21 February 2015.
