SPACE has special focus on climate change, disaster management, food security, housing, quality education, HIV/AIDS, health and nutrition, safe water, sanitation and hygiene from ecological perspectives, renewable energy generation, ecological agriculture, human rights and governance etc as the core programs. It gives equal importance to awareness raising, training, advocacy and campaign, research and documentation for the effective implementation of the core activities. Overall objective:
To contribute in changing the socio-economic status of the disadvantaged and under-privileged people towards sustainable poverty reduced better live.
Specific objectives:
– To enable the poor people for identifying their own problems and resources so that they can efficiently utilize their resources for better life by self-help initiatives.
– To facilitate and capacitate of the poor people for protecting their human rights through establishing good governance at all stages;
– To educate the poor people, especially the poor underprivileged children emphasising to girls;
– To create access to safe, affordable and sustainable water and sanitation followed by the Ecological Sanitation Approaches;
– To undertake adaptation and mitigation measures for climate change;
– To create access to safe and secured food by the poor through emplyment generation, Ecological agriculture and off-farm.
– To improve health and nutritional status of the poor people, especially the children and women;
– To create awareness on STD/HIV/AIDS to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS through behaviour change communication.
– To increase and regeneration of forest resources to protect environmental degradation and restore ecological balance.
– To empower women through bringing change in behaviour, skill, attitude and knowledge by ensuring their participation;
– To create children friendly environment through skill development, mainstreaming in the formal education system;
– To improve living environment from pollution through recycling the wastes and increasing plantation.
