The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) is seeking applications to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of violent extremist offenders and the reintegration of returning foreign terrorist fighters.
The program’s purpose will be to strengthen the networks, capacity and will of civil society organizations and influential individuals in communities to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of violent extremist offenders who have been released from custody.
Award Information
The size of the award is between $1,000,000 to $1,300,000.
Program Objectives
- To build the capacity of civil society actors for the purpose of reintegrating violent extremist offenders and returning foreign terrorist fighters into communities.
- To facilitate relationships of trust among civil society actors and governmental civilian and security sector authorities as concerns reintegration and the creation of supportive interpersonal networks.
- To draw upon civil society capabilities to counter radicalization in prisons.
- To formulate, validate, and share good practices of reintegration into communities.
Eligibility Criteria
Public or private academic institution, non-governmental organization, or for-profit entities from all over the world are eligible to apply for the program.
